Face Masks

Today, I’m hoping to make a face mask or two, to see how it goes.  I have an abundance of fabric I can use, and very little elastic, so I’m hoping to design a mask that will loop over the ear without needing elastic.

I realize the order to wear these is not mandatory and while I have some coming by delivery by tomorrow, my homemade ones will probably be more comfortable and perhaps even fashionable.  I have an abundance of fabric.  Did I already say that?  Some flowers, some stripes, who know what’s in that trunk!

Updating is not an option…it killed my other site completely.

I have had to restore many times, and lost most of my posts because I had changed hosting companies, and my backups were too old to use, as the site had been updated too many times.

This new update, to 5.4 killed everything there.  The only thing I could redo was an old story I’d written about an incident in my past I wanted to remember.  Or shall I say, I hoped others would remember.  Dare I?

Now, prompted to update this site, the answer is just NO.

Hysteria or Real Need?

I keep reading differing opinions about this COVID-19 virus and the reaction of the world, governments, media, and people.  There seems to be rank criticism of President Trump, yet if he hadn’t taken the reins of government and shut the flux of humans with the virus down, lots more of us could have it by now.  The daily press conferences are giving us all good scoop on what’s going on with supplies, testing, etc.  Vice President Pence is doing a great job heading the task force that has been given the job of government help and resource use to fight this thing.

The Congress actually sheathed their long knives enough to pass a bill almost unanimously to help out the effort, and aid the people losing their source of income during this period of intense lock down and scrutiny.

It’s the poor medical people I feel the most for right now, as they have inadequate supplies to protect themselves from their own patients.  And they must be working around the clock to save lives.

The young, and those who have no sense, or fear, probably think it’s best to go ahead and get it, and get it over with as even the British government thought, initially.  Immunity, herd immunity is a good thing.  But getting there will be not only risky, but endangers those most vulnerable entirely too much.

All this is just repeating everything everyone else is saying.  Wondering just why on earth anyone would consider voting for a Biden in this atmosphere.  Like him or not, President Trump is working tons harder than anyone else to deal with this mess.  Making decisions no one wants to make, and he will face the consequences alone.  A very brave man.  I salute his determination, grit, and patriotism in these most trying times.  He is an eagle.
